Product Introduction

BCODcr-40 Automatic Chemical Oxygen Demand (dichromate method) analyzer is an analytical system for measuring chemical oxygen demand in water developed and produced by Beijing Baode Instrument Co., Ltd. The instrument is designed in full accordance with the standard (HJ828-2017), and the entire measurement process fully complies with the standard requirements. The potassium dichromate method is used to measure the chemical oxygen demand in water. The whole machine adopts an integrated design, reasonable structure, automatic reagent addition, stable performance, intelligent detection, and accurate data.


Instrument Principle

The potassium dichromate method is to add a known amount of potassium dichromate solution to the water sample, and use silver salt as a catalyst in a strong acid medium. After boiling and reflux, use ferrochlore as an indicator and ammonium ferrous sulfate to titrate the unreduced potassium dichromate in the water sample. The mass concentration of consumed oxygen is calculated from the amount of potassium dichromate consumed.

According to the standard HJ 828-2017, the instrument can automatically add mercuric sulfate solution and potassium dichromate standard solution to the water sample in sequence, add silver sulfate-sulfuric acid solution from the upper mouth of the condenser, and keep it at a slight boiling reflux for 2 hours.

After cooling, pure water is automatically added from the top of the condenser tube. After the temperature reaches room temperature, ferrochlore indicator is added, and ammonium ferrous sulfate is used for automatic titration. The titration endpoint is automatically identified and determined, and the software automatically calculates the chemical oxygen demand of the water sample. The instrument can measure high and low concentration samples simultaneously and independently without cross contamination, and the data is stable and accurate.
